First Steps

First Steps is a programme focussed on supporting people aged 16-29 with additional support needs who have left school and need support to overcome barriers in their lives which are impacting on their confidence and ambition.

In addition to their support needs, we help people overcome other issues in their lives. This could be problems at home, mental health worries or even problems with offending behaviour.

Employment Coordinators deliver intensive 1:1 support, working closely with community partners to help overcome issues together and find a path through to the next stage of training or learning.

We have been delivering First Steps since 2016 in Dundee, Fife, Glasgow, North Lanarkshire, South Lanarkshire, Ayrshire and Renfrewshire funded by ESF and North Lanarkshire Council.
